Care guide

Good care. Everyday.

A few considered habits for the materials you live with.

Start with the finish

Always follow the care instructions supplied with your piece. Different finishes can react differently to cleaning products. If you are unsure what your piece needs, ask us first.

Wood & veneer

Use a soft, dry cloth for regular dusting. Wipe spills promptly and dry the surface. Use coasters and mats, avoid standing water, and keep furniture away from direct heat. Do not use abrasive pads or solvent-based cleaners.

Painted & duco finishes

Wipe gently with a soft cloth and avoid aggressive rubbing. Do not use abrasive powders, scouring pads or solvent cleaners. Check with us before applying polish, especially on a matte surface.

Matte, satin & gloss

Protect the surface from scratching and heat. Gloss finishes can show fine marks, while rubbing or polishing may change the look of matte finishes. Use the care method specified for your piece.

Upholstery

Vacuum gently using a suitable upholstery attachment. Blot spills rather than rubbing them. Check the fabric care instructions before using water or cleaning agents, and test any approved cleaner in a hidden area.

Glass & stone

Use coasters and protective mats. Avoid abrasive tools and harsh chemicals. Stone types and sealants vary, so confirm the appropriate cleaner for your specific surface before treating a spill or stain.

Moving & positioning

Lift furniture instead of dragging it, with enough people to support the weight safely. Keep it level and avoid placing it where persistent moisture, heat or direct sunlight can affect the finish.
